Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations
Launched in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain is the single TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At first, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domain names remained operational.

You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer key from the present registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no special rules on who can secure a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
